Yes, I've been laid off
Yesterday, my two bosses let me know that myself and another long-serving employee of Destiny had been gobbled up by the revenue beast. Neither of us were sales people and thus were said to be 'not generating revenue' (I suppose supporting sales wasn't enough). I also suppose our long-serving salaries also had to be cut to save the bottom line.

Looking to the New World
Far from being bitter about this, I'd like to think that I've been spared in the past four years from a lot of the pavement pounding that has been experienced by my friends and associates in the industry. Now starts a new world where I can explore other things that I've wanted to do and with some severance and benefits I may be able to pursue. As you can see above, I am open to design contracts. If you know anything, please let me know.

My action plan for getting on my pants
As for my immediate moves, first I am seeing about my severance, next I am applying for EI. Applying for Employment Insurance (which was changed from the previous 'Unemployment Insurance') is now more civilized with an online form. Kelvin drily observed that this means I don't have to put on my pants to get benefits. After this I will update my resume and start scanning for jobs. Another option is to look at schools but unfortunately school has just started and unless I can plead my case I doubt I can get in any at this point. Finally, it was pointed out to me that I already have most of the equipment to video weddings.

1000 views in four days
I just received a note from the executive co-producer that Episode 13 has achieved 1,000 views in the four days it has been out. By contrast, the very first episode has received 5,000 views since the premiere of the Lady X series (June 1st).
