Double Gun Action -- some more gun workshop shots

Double Desert Eagles

A few more shots from that actors' gun workshop. One thing I found as I was doing these is how a little more fill and rim could have made my job easier and how shooting in RAW saved my ass.

This continues a report begun in Gun Happy Still: actors' gun workshop shoot

I had been swapping in a fill flash through some of these shots but was never really satisfied by their effect. And the rim flashes, forget it, they were dying after the first three subjects. Having another B800 shooting off house power would have been lovely.

That aside, I found that I was saving some of my dark darks in Lightroom. Having fine tune controls for bringing out the darks so that they didn't entirely disappear into the background saved a few of these. In a couple shots I actually blended exposures in Photoshop. I would create a virtual copy of the shot, one exposed for face values and one for the dark clothing, and then used masking to combine layers.

After this I have about three more subjects to do and I'll be done with these.

You can see these as well as the photos I've already posted here in my set.
