Freedom of information requests have resulted in the release of a gallery of aerial photographs of Ground Zero in Manhattan showing the Twin Towers engulfed in smoke and then the moments during and after their collapse on September 11th. The photographs, taken by police helicopters, were the only ones taken from the air after the skies were ordered clear after the attacks.
